Entry Requirements
In the airplane, immigration forms will be handed out. These must be filled in and presented, along with passports, to the immigration officer at the airport.
Visitors to Egypt must have a valid passport and visa. A passport must be valid for six months after the day of entry. Visas are valid for three months from date of issue, but are only good for a stay of one month in Egypt. Visas can be renewed locally. With restriction to very few nationalities, visitors can obtain visas upon arrival at any Egyptian airport. (Valid for one month subject to extension except for very few nationalities).
Visitors must register with the Ministry of the Interior for stays exceeding seven days. Passports will be collected by your agent, brought to the registration office and returned the following day. This can be done by the hotel as well.
Currency Regulations
For visitors to Egypt, there is no restriction on the amount of foreign currency brought into the country, whether cash, traveler's checks, money orders, bank transfers or letters of credit. However, visitors must declare the amount on a Customs Declaration Form and an officially stamped copy must be kept until departure. Upon departure, visitors may leave with the amount entered on their declaration form, less any amounts changed into Egyptian currency. On either arrival or departure, visitors may carry up to 20 Egyptian Pounds per person.

Customs
Visitors to Egypt may bring US $100 worth of duty-free goods into Egypt or more. Personal effects are admitted duty free.
Health Regulations
An international certificate of vaccination against smallpox is NOT required. Vaccination against typhoid and paratyphoid is advisable before arrival. An international certificate of inoculation against cholera is required for travelers from affected countries. All health certificates must comply with the WHO format, and be written in English or French. All data must be signed by the physician who administered the vaccination, and the holder of the certificate, and be stamped with the official seal of the medical institution.
