1 Day Intensive Safari (from Cairo to Cairo)
Itinerary:
- Departure from Cairo at 6:00 a.m heading to the most beautiful oasis in Egypt ( Fayoum oasis) the largest and most rich oasis in the world from the pre-historic times, 60 kilometers south west of Cairo. A combination of nature, history and adventure on the most fasinating spots on earth.
- Starting the off road trip heading to Dir Abu Lifa through the lime stone plateau of Gabel Atrani and start our hike up the mountain to see the caves of Dir Abu Lifa or the monastery of Abu Lifa, one of the copt saints who lived and died in the area at the time of persecution for christians in the Roman times.
- Back for tea and breakfast.
- Drive to Kasr El-Sagha, one of the old Pharonic temples discovered in 1884.
- Drive to Demeh El-Sebah , north of Caroun Lake , about nine kilometers south west of Kasr El-Sagha lies a temple from the ptolemaic era in the middle of the desert, dedicated to the Godess Isis and the God Skorobios Nisos. Also this temple was orginally built for the God Sobik, which means Crocodile.
- Then we drive through the sand stone plateau along the coast of the lake and upwards to EI-Medawara to enjoy the scenery of the oasis and the lake from the top of the mountain and stop for lunch around the camp fire.
- Drive back to Cairo through the paved agriculture road until we hit the desert road to Cairo. (A possibility to stop in one of the gardens for tea)
- Back to Cairo around 6:00 p.m
